Don Towle’s chopped ’34 Ford Lakes Coupe was featured on the cover of the October 1951 issue of Hot Rod magazine. Towel’s Coupe and AHRF Pioneer Don Zabel’s Class B Roadster (on the right) are both seen at Saugus Drag Strip that year. If you timed it right, you could run at El Mirage in the morning and stop off at Saugus in the afternoon on the way back home to Los Angeles.
