Each of the sponsors of this year’s 2023 RPM Nationals got to choose their favorite car in attendance, and we decided to focus on a favorite traditional hot rod. Dubbed the AHRF “Team Choice” award, this trophy was presented to the car and owner, which we felt best represented early hot rodding both in style and spirit. When we saw Rick Hall’s wonderful ’32 roadster, we were quite taken by it for many reasons … then we found out that it was a survivor with some great history and that took it over the top. Built into a hot rod in the late 1940s, this roadster was owned by a young man in the St Louis, Mo area who, tragically, went off to serve our country during the Korean War and never returned. His roadster sat, untouched, for decades before being sold by his family and put back on the road over the past several years. Thanks to its current owner, AHRF supporting member Rick Hall, we’re confident that this great American time capsule is in the best of hands.
Congratulations to Rick and his ’32 on winning our first RPM Nationals AHRF Team Choice award!
