Jay Leno

In this, our fifth Hot Rod Legends Series episode, we got to sit down with friend and long-time supporter of the AHRF, Jay Leno. Without question, Jay is one of the most generous and enthusiastic supporters of the old car hobby and we cannot begin to thank him enough for all that he does to support our young, budding enthusiasts.

From his involvement with McPherson College to his “30 under 30” Audrain Concours class for young car builders/restorers, Jay is doing all he can to inspire future generations. Enjoy this overview of Jay’s life ( in and out of the old car world ) as he explains some of the reasons why he feels that working with your hands and having an understanding and respect for skilled craftsmanship is such an important part of our culture.

Unlike some of our interviews which focus on the racing career and/or technical side of someone’s accomplishments in the hot rodding world, our talk with Jay is a fun and entertaining overview of his life and career, his obsession with interesting automobiles, his relationship with hot rodding, and we think will provide some viewing pleasure for the whole family…  whether car-obsessed or not.

We’re happy to say that Jay has been enthusiastic about the work done by the AHRF since we began back in 2002. He stepped right up to contribute his feelings on the ’32 Ford for our “Deuce” documentary and this most recent film interview with AHRF Director, David Steele, is just another example of his generosity with us (not to mention braving triple-digit heat on our shoot day!).
