He watched as drag racing grew from a teenager’s past time to one of the biggest sports in the world and even got to develop and curate the wonderful NHRA Hot Rod Reunion events that harken back to that simpler time. In addition, Steve’s passion for making sure that the roots of drag racing’s past are never forgotten saw him spearhead the build of the Wally Parks NHRA Museum of Drag Racing in Pomona; a holy place for drag racing fans that continues to be the gathering place for historians of our beloved sport and hobby.
These days Steve has taken on the task of producing what we feel is possibly the best nostalgia drag racing event on the calendar … The Nitro Revival! This event is a literal exploded view of Steve’s experience, expertise, good taste, friendships, and love of real drag racing. A not-to-be-missed event for any hot rodder or drag racer! It is our great honor to have been able to sit down with Steve and capture his story as told by the man who lived it.
