More about the car:
Hi guys,
Originally from France, I arrived in Canada 20 years ago so that I could fully live my passion for the American Automobile.
I’ve owned all kinds of cars, mainly muscle cars, except for my Chevy 1958 Apache pickup.
Following an encounter with one who is now a best friend, I let myself be tempted into building a classic and nostalgic Hot-Rod, to revisit the very beginnings of the hot-rodding movement.
My project started with a 1930 model chassis, complete and in running order. I made it more reliable by converting it to a standard negative 12volt ground system which makes it easier to retrofit electricals.
I then started looking for parts that were from the era with the help of my friend, who has a great eye for this kind of project. The target in mind was going to the T.R.O.G. on Wildwood beach in 2024.
1936 Ford wheels were dug up at a swap meet, a 1926 model T body was found in a car fair in Montreal-North, a Ford model A ’28 or ’29 radiator was located at the Hershey swap meet and the addition of a couple of airplane parts from the last great war were also added to give it a little bit more of a 50’s feel to it.
Following that, I added a double carb ZEFER intake with two type 94 Holley carbs, and the ignition system is now electronic.
The rest of the mechanics are all Ford originals.
After a few test-runs during the summer of 2024, I set off to Wildwood for an incredible experience.
With the pride that no major mechanics malfunctioned on my vintage hot-rod, I headed home with a big smile on my face and a head full of souvenirs.
I’ll see you at the track!!
Didier
About the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month Contest
The Hot Rod of the Month Contest is a special opportunity available only to Foundation Members. Active Members have a two-week period EACH MONTH in which to enter a car they own by providing photos and a description of their car. During the following two-week period, all Members, whether they have entered a car or not, can individually vote for their favorite car.
The car with the most Member votes at the end of each month will be the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month and will be featured on the AHRF website and on social networks.
At the end of each calendar year, the Advisory Board of the Foundation will select one car, as the AHRF Hot Rod of the Year, from that year’s Hot Rod of the Month winners. The Hot Rod of the Year will be given special publicity, and the car will be maintained in an ongoing catalog of AHRF Hot Rod of the Year winners.
