Roadster History:
Originally built by Dick Eaton in the early 1970s on a Henry body. Dick’s Jaguar independent suspension set-up front and rear, a Ford 302 with a C4, and Dick’s own home‑built chassis.

My father, Bob Scott, purchased the roadster in the early 1980s, and our family enjoyed it in that original form for many years. When my dad became ill with Parkinson’s in 2006, I stored all of our hot rods and sold off much of his collection so I could focus on helping him through his illness. After he passed in 2011, we were fortunate to keep a few of the cars that meant the most to us.

I eventually pulled the roadster out of storage and rebuilt it into the version I knew my dad would have created himself. With the help of Ron Attebury and his son‑in‑law Matt Dowd at ASR Street Rods in Grass Valley CA, we debuted the car at the 2016 GNRS AMBR competition.

My best memories are behind the wheel — first with my dad, and now with my wife Tammy running with the Bay Area Roadster Club.

A motor swap and repaint in 2025, handled by Gary’s Rod & Restorations of Watsonville CA, transformed the car once again. We replaced the Boss 302 with a Dan Brewer / Shaver Racing 430ci injected SBF, turning it into an absolute blast to drive, and for us, that’s what it’s all about!

About the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month Contest

The Hot Rod of the Month Contest is a special opportunity available only to Foundation Members. Active Members have a two-week period EACH MONTH in which to enter a car they own by providing photos and a description of their car. During the following two-week period, all Members, whether they have entered a car or not, can individually vote for their favorite car.

The car with the most Member votes at the end of each month will be the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month and will be featured on the AHRF website and on social networks.

At the end of each calendar year, the Advisory Board of the Foundation will select one car, as the AHRF Hot Rod of the Year, from that year’s Hot Rod of the Month winners. The Hot Rod of the Year will be given special publicity, and the car will be maintained in an ongoing catalog of AHRF Hot Rod of the Year winners.
