More about the car:

I debuted my car at Good Guys Columbus 2005. I spent three years up to that point building it. I interviewed and chose Hot Rods and Custom Stuff of Escondido, Ca to build me their rolling Deuce Frame and Brookville body to my specs. I took the car from there and finished it in my garage in Ft. Meyers, Fl. I’ve been building cars since age 14 in 1964. I’d always enjoyed looking at Roadster Pickups from those days forward. I’d looked at a lot.
The Deuce Frame plants the car on the ground with plenty of attitude. Unique to this frame, it maintains adequate clearance from the ground while still achieving that Hot Rod Down-in-the-Weeds appearance. This Hot Rod was always going to be flat black. It’s the car the kid built around 1950 or so. It probably started with a banger or a flathead then along the way the owner saw a wrecked Corvette and bought the engine for his Hot Rod. The seats are from a WWII AT-11 Bomber. The Duke Hallack windshield is a special feature and really sets it apart from all other Roadster Pickups. Duke Hallack is a story in and of himself. A true post war Hot Rodder with the Dry Lakes in his veins. So this ole Hot Rod has seen a few iterations, I’m sure 😉 As for me, I’ve changed a few things around along the way. Mostly wheels. What a difference they can make. I hope you enjoy my little piece of Hot Rod fantasy. BTW, it’s been 18 years of trouble-free driving too.

About the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month Contest

The Hot Rod of the Month Contest is a special opportunity available only to Foundation Members. Active Members have a two-week period EACH MONTH in which to enter a car they own by providing photos and a description of their car. During the following two-week period, all Members, whether they have entered a car or not, can individually vote for their favorite car.

The car with the most Member votes at the end of each month will be the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month and will be featured on the AHRF website and on social networks.

At the end of each calendar year, the Advisory Board of the Foundation will select one car, as the AHRF Hot Rod of the Year, from that year’s Hot Rod of the Month winners. The Hot Rod of the Year will be given special publicity, and the car will be maintained in an ongoing catalog of AHRF Hot Rod of the Year winners.
