More about the car:

This post-war traditional hot rod, inspired by the Fran Hernandez coupe, was built in my home garage just as hot rodders did in the late 40’s and early 50’s.

The Brookville 3-W body was fitted with original floor, seat, dash, passenger door, hood, grill shell/insert and tack strip.

The original frame is used with a 1950 Mercury engine 276 cid, Edmunds 2×2 intake with Stromberg 97 carbs, Navarro heads, Isky 400 Jr. cam, 1939 Ford transmission and a 1940 Ford rear-end. Original 1932 Ford commercial headlights, original Steward Warner wing gauges, 1941 Mercury steering wheel. Upholstery by Paul Reichlin, Cedardale Upholstery. Door safety latches are from WWII P-51 aircraft.

Front wheels are 1940 Ford 60HP (16×3.5) with Firestone Deluxe Champion 5.50×16. Front brakes are original 1939 Lincoln.
Rear wheels are 1941 Mercury (16×5) with Firestone Deluxe Champion 7.50×16.
Rear brakes are 1940 Ford.
Wheel covers are original 1941 Mercury

About the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month Contest

The Hot Rod of the Month Contest is a special opportunity available only to Foundation Members. Active Members have a two-week period EACH MONTH in which to enter a car they own by providing photos and a description of their car. During the following two-week period, all Members, whether they have entered a car or not, can individually vote for their favorite car.

The car with the most Member votes at the end of each month will be the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month and will be featured on the AHRF website and on social networks.

At the end of each calendar year, the Advisory Board of the Foundation will select one car, as the AHRF Hot Rod of the Year, from that year’s Hot Rod of the Month winners. The Hot Rod of the Year will be given special publicity, and the car will be maintained in an ongoing catalog of AHRF Hot Rod of the Year winners.
