Model: Roadster

Transmission: GM TH700R
Rear End: Ford 9 inch
More about the car:
Like many other hot rod owners, I built this car in my head for many many years.
I built it as is if it was mid-1960’s in Southern California. A young man having 1 car to get to work in but racing when he could on the lakes, maybe Bonneville and the drags.
The ’32 features a Street Rods by Michael frame with a flat front cross member for that just right rake, 4″ dropped, drilled and filled Super Bell Axle held in place by drilled split wishbones and various Pete & Jakes suspension components. Out back on the chassis there is a 9″ Ford rear end held in place by a set of Pete & Jakes ladder bars that have been modified to accent the front split wishbones with a filled and drilled look. Posies quarter elliptical springs smooth out the ride. Stopping is provided by a set of SO-CAL Speed Shop polished “Buick Finned” Brakes up front and Ford drum brakes out back. The 9″ rear spins a 3.50 gearset with a posi unit in it.
Under the 32 tapered louvered hood, rests a 1958 392 Chrysler Hemi that has been gone thru and has the “good stuff” inside it. You know its a worked over Hemi when it rolls into a show or cruise night. On top is a HOT HEADS 2x4bbl polished manifold with Edelbrock carbs feeding fuel into it and fired by an MSD HEI Distributor. The horsepower goes thru a Gearstar GM TH700R transmission.
The body is a Wescott Roadster body that has been prepped and painted in a special mix “Dirty Penny” copper color with a matte clear finish. Out back the gas tank is even louvered! A Rodwell windshield keeps the bugs off the driver and passenger.
The interior is bare bones with aluminum and copper accents throughout. The gas pedal is a Ludwig ” SPEED KING” Bass drum pedal modified to run the throttle perfectly. The Lokar Shifter is topped with a ’50’s style microphone! The seat is a Glide , that has been modified by Speed & Design Interiors to sit lower in the hot rod and then covered with a distressed leather look material to add to the vintage vibe of this hot rod.
Rolling stock consists of ET Wheels Vintage V up front in 15 x4 size with Diamondback Auburn Bias Ply Look tires in 145-15 size. Out back American Rebel “TRICK 8″ wheels in 16” size have Towel City Pie Crust Slicks on them.
This 1932 Roadster says HOT ROD in a great way!
