More about the car

I’m the current caretaker of this coupe. It spent many years in the vast collection of Harold Johansen prior to his passing. Justin Baas gained ownership and I purchased it from him.
It was assembled in San Francisco, and has never had a patch panel. It was repainted in the 1980’s and fitted with a reproduction interior.
It runs a 0.040″ up 200ci B diamond block with a Winfield head and cam. It is a full insert motor, hi-volume oil pump, single early (pre-finned) intake manifold and a single 97. It has a lightened flywheel and a V8 clutch. It runs on 12 volts. It has a 4 into 1 header, and a free-flowing exhaust.
The front end consists of a reversed eye flattened spring, a 33-36 axle, 32-34 spindles, perch bolts and brakes.
The rear has been fitted with a T spring.
It currently runs 16″ Kelsey Hayes wires and big and littles.
I will refit the 18″ wheels, and cragar caps.
I feel privileged to own this car, and plan a few updates, to make driving that bit more pleasurable. I’m fitting a B transmission equipped with 39 gears and a 32 steering box.

About the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month Contest

The Hot Rod of the Month Contest is a special opportunity available only to Foundation Members. Active Members have a two-week period EACH MONTH in which to enter a car they own by providing photos and a description of their car. During the following two-week period, all Members, whether they have entered a car or not, can individually vote for their favorite car.

The car with the most Member votes at the end of each month will be the AHRF Hot Rod of the Month and will be featured on the AHRF website and on social networks.

At the end of each calendar year, the Advisory Board of the Foundation will select one car, as the AHRF Hot Rod of the Year, from that year’s Hot Rod of the Month winners. The Hot Rod of the Year will be given special publicity, and the car will be maintained in an ongoing catalog of AHRF Hot Rod of the Year winners.
