𝚃𝚞𝚎𝚜𝚍𝚊𝚢, 𝙰𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚕 𝟸𝟿, 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟻

Up front, we see the number 490 Class B Roadster of AHRF contributor Kay Kimes and partner Jim Seabridge at El Mirage for the August 1948 races. The car was powered by a ’28 Ford 4-banger displacing 212”. It was fitted with an Acme head, Evans intake, Smith cam and Wico mag. They were out of the top 20 runners. No speed is known. Number 52 on the left, is Frank Beagle’s Class C Roadster that ran a 269” ’42 Mercury. He turned 123.11 mph. On the right, is the number 106 Class B Roadster of Starr & Alger who ran 130.81 mph with their 248” Mercury powered ride. Number 205 is the Class C Streamliner of Davis and Pettigrew powered by a 265” Ford V8. We don’t have a speed for them. Number 320 in the upper right was the Don Conroy Class B Roadster. A 239” ’46 Mercury provided the go.
